Keto Deviled Eggs

Keto Deviled Eggs

Keto Deviled Eggs are one of my favorite appetizers especially for entertaining or around holidays.  They can take a few tries to master but are super high in fat with a good amount of protein and thus extremely Keto-friendly.  This recipe comes courtesy of my husband, who barely knows his way around the kitchen except for making deviled eggs and the occasional pork roll breakfast sandwich.  So if he can do this, so can you!

The first crucial skill to master to make a good deviled egg is learning how to cook a hard boiled egg.  There’s a variety of different methods out there to make the ‘best’ hard boiled egg so I won’t rehash them here, but if I had to pick one, I think this is a solid method.

That said, the BEST way to make the PERFECT hard boiled eggs 100% OF THE TIME with minimal effort is using an egg cooker like this.  Yes, maybe it’s a cheat, and yes I totally rolled my eyes when my husband first suggested buying one, but it’s now a staple in my kitchen and it’s more than paid for itself (as we’re no longer throwing away eggs from cooking flops!).

For the recipe itself, you’ll need 6 large eggs, some mayonnaise, yellow mustard, horseradish cream sauce (Optional) and a few spices (garlic powder, salt, pepper, paprika and pepper).

Lastly, I topped off my Keto Deviled Eggs with some Bacon Bits but you can skip this step if you prefer.  Just follow the easy steps below to prepare the rest of your Keto Deviled Eggs and ENJOY!

Ingredients
  • 6 Large Eggs
  • 2.5 Tbsp. Mayo
  • 1 tsp. Yellow Mustard
  • 1/4 tsp. Horseradish Cream Sauce (optional)
  • 1/8 tsp. of Salt
  • 1/8 tsp. of Paprika
  • 1/8 tsp. of Garlic Powder
  • Pinch of Pepper
  • Bacon Bits (optional)
Directions
  • Step 1 Cook 6 hard boiled eggs using an egg cooker, or the method of your choice such as this one.
  • Step 2 Fill a medium-sized bowl with ice water and let eggs soak for 10 minutes until cooled.
  • Step 3 Crack and peel off eggshells and discard, being careful not to break the eggs.
  • Step 4 Cut eggs in half. Then gently remove each egg yolk from center of egg, leaving the white egg halves intact and setting them aside for later.
  • Step 5 Add the 6 egg yolks to a small bowl. Mix egg yolks until smooth using a fork or mixer.
  • Step 6 Combine the egg yolk mix with mayo, mustard, horseradish sauce, salt, pepper, and garlic powder and stir until even throughout.
  • Step 7 For this next step, if you have a piping or pastry bag you can use that or alternatively you can make a simple DIY version using a resealable ziplock bag. Fill the ziplock bag with the egg yolk mix, and twist the bag until tight – the mix should fill one corner of the bag completely. Carefully cut a triangle into the bottom corner of bag.
  • Step 8 Apply pressure to gently squeeze the bag of egg yolk, dispensing the filling into center of each white egg to fill.
  • Step 9 Sprinkle deviled eggs with bacon bits and paprika then chill for 20 minutes in fridge before serving!
